In the episode, I guide you through what is needed for launching a business, such as ideas and services to offer, pricing, marketing, operations and a financial plan. I share my story of how I tried to start a business but it didn't take off due to not having a plan for all the necessary parts for a successful business.

Answer questions before launching

Before launching a business, it is important to have all the answers to any questions that may arise. Starting a business can be a daunting task and it is easy to get overwhelmed. Without having a plan and knowing what needs to be done, it can be difficult to get the business off the ground.

I learned this lesson the hard way. I had an idea to start a business working with veterinary clinics as a consultant. I had the business degree and I understood how businesses ran and how the flow could be improved. I was excited to make the shift from a medical career to an online business.

However, I quickly realized I had no idea where to start. I had all these questions swarming around in my head and I didn't know what to do. I was stuck and overwhelmed. I was asking myself questions like, how much is it going to cost me? How much do I charge? What service do I offer? How can I identify that? How can I explain it to the veterinary practice managers so that they know what it is that I do so that I can help them?

In order to make sure I was prepared to launch my business, I created a starting a business guide. This guide answered all the questions I had and more. It outlined my business idea and got specific about what my service was. It also outlined the pricing and walked through the steps of setting up a business plan. It went into marketing, operations, team management, and financial planning.

Having the answers to all these questions before launching was essential. It gave me the confidence and the knowledge to move forward with my business. It allowed me to have a plan and to know exactly what I was doing. Without it, I would have been lost and overwhelmed.

Start planning your business

Planning is the key to starting a business. You need to ask yourself questions such as:
  • What services do I offer?
  • What steps do I need to take?
  • What do I need to do to launch my business?
  • What are the legal requirements?
  • What are the financial requirements?
  • What marketing will I need to do?
  • How will I reach my target audience?

When you have the answers to these questions, you can start to plan out your business. You need to create a business plan that outlines all the steps you need to take to launch your business. This plan should include your services, your target audience, your marketing plan, and your financial goals. It should also include a timeline for when you will launch your business and when you expect to reach your goals.
